Phil Groves is the founding partner of DAC Management, LLC and chairs DAC's investment committee, leads its overall strategy and overseas its risk controls. DAC currently has AUM of US$435m. Through DAC he also founded Gao Fei Consulting Beijing Company Limited in 2005 and serves as its Chairman and Legal Representative. Prior to founding DAC, Mr. Groves worked for Arthur Andersen and myCFO, Inc. At myCFO, Mr Groves was the Managing Director of the firm's strategic advisory services and oversaw the firm’s involvement with Asian investments. Mr. Groves holds a B.S. degree from Boston College and an MBA degree from Notre Dame, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
David Green is founder and Chairman of Newpage Consulting, a company he established in Macau early in 2010. Previously he was a partner and director of the Gaming Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers ( Macau ) Limitada . From 1995 – 2002, he was a member and Chairman of the Independent Gambling Authority of South Australia. He is a former Director of the State Government Insurance Corporation of South Australia, and a former Commissioner for Consumer Affairs in South Australia. He holds a Masters degree in Law from the University of Melbourne, an MBA with Honours from IMD, Lausanne, and a Commerce degree, also from the University of Melbourne. He was admitted to legal practice in Australia in 1977. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants (Australia), and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Mike was born in Hong Kong and educated in England and the United States before returning to Asia to live in 2001. He has more than 15 years experience in the Asian gaming industry, initially establishing new markets for online operator Victor Chandler in South Korea and Malaysia before co-founding SHL with Tim Shepherd in 2004. Mike directs the corporate strategy and operations of the business from Hong Kong and is a member of the Board of Directors. Mike has a BBA in Finance and Marketing from the Roberto C. Goizueta Business School, at Emory University in Atlanta GA, USA.
Tim has lived in Hong Kong for 20 years and has more than 15 years experience in the Asian gaming industry. TIm drove the growth of the company from incorporation, through the establishment of sports bars and electronic gaming machine placement in licensed casinos. Today he divides his time overseeing the group's three major development gaming projects in South Asia, Vietnam and The Philippines. Tim has a BSc (Hons) from The City University Business School, London, UK and is a member of the Board of Directors. He is acknowledged internationally as an expert in emerging Asian gaming markets and speaks regularly at gaming conferences globally including both G2E and the World Executive Gaming Summit.
Martin is a UK Chartered Accountant who has lived and worked in Asia since 1987. He joined SHL in 2006 and brings with him a wide range of financial and operational experience. For 9 years from 2004 to 2013, Martin was an independent non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee for Grande Holdings Limited, a company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Martin is a member of the ICAEW and the HKICPA, and has a BSc degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Loughborough University in the UK.
Hugh is a partner at DAC Management, LLC and responsible for its real estate investments. He oversees our casino resort development in South Asia. He has served as Vice President, Development and Project Finance for Hilton International for the Asia Pacific region, prior to which, he held a similar position for Holiday Inn Worldwide (currently InterContinental Hotel Group). During his tenure he completed over 50 hotel transactions involving loans, credit support arrangements, convertible debt agreements, investments and joint ventures as a critical part of the underlying contractual obligations. Hugh is a graduate of Harvard College, magna cum laude, in East Asian Studies and holds both a Masters Degree and M.B.A. from Harvard University and Harvard Business School, respectively. He is fluent in Mandarin.
Paul is a long time Asia resident with more than 35 years of casino management experience which has seen him head up the international operations of Burswood International Resort, Perth, Australia, and the Senior VP Operations at NagaWorld Casino in Phnom Penh, Cambodia following the IPO in 2007. Paul is based in the company’s regional head office in Vientiane, Laos from where he oversees the group’s experienced casino operations units.
